About Us

We may be few but our mission is important: to widen the community of global ancient scholars and increase access to the foundational material of which present social realities are formed. We strive to embrace new evidence and interpretations in the ongoing examination and reexamination of the interconnected global past so that we might challenge assumptions and long-held biases around ancient peoples and cultures. Our purpose is to unite students in the common interest of exploring ancient cultures, languages and ideas and to widen the community of ancient scholars - and, to have fun! Join us!

We host weekly meetups (casual gatherings where you can chat or study) and larger events (lectures, workshops, and more).

Where else can I find PSWAG?

We have a community Discord for members to chat, share materials or memes, ask questions, and more. To join, message any officer or inquire at an in-person event.

Visit our Connect page for full location details. Typically, events are held in Fariborz Maseeh Hall.

Do I need to be studying Latin to join?

No! Many of our members study Latin, so PSWAG is a good place to practice together. But, it's not a requirement! History is a very diverse field, and all interests gather here.
