You're Invited!

Cupid's Coco Corner:

We are also thrilled to invite you to our first community event of the year: Cupid's Coco Corner! In the spirit of showing love to ourselves and our neighbors, we’ll be hosting a hot cocoa station featuring local hot chocolate from  Creo Chocolate, alongside all the supplies you need to make handmade Valentines. Whether you’re crafting a card for a partner, a friend, or a fellow student, we invite you to warm up with a cup of cocoa and share a little kindness with those around you.

Basic Needs & Student Support Alignment Open Forum:

Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2026

Time:12:00-1:30

Location: TBD

Join the Basic Needs Hub, Resource Center for Students with Children and the PSU Smallwood Food Pantry to discuss aligning the resource centers to better serve students. In this forum, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback. We will focus on the services, programs, and resources that the community believes the areas could provide to better serve the students. Light refreshments will be provided. Check Connect for more info soon.

Franz Bakery Tour:

Building on that shared kindness, we hope to see you at the Tour of the Franz Bakery! We will gather to take a short bus ride together, turning the commute into a chance to connect before arriving to see the transformation of ingredients into the loaves that land on our shelves and your kitchen counter. This is a unique opportunity to learn the real-world process behind our food system while further strengthening our community ties. Let's discover the journey of our bread together!

The pantry is more than just a place to find food. It is a space for us to gather, support one another, and ensure no one has to navigate the stresses of student life alone. Thank you for being a part of this community. We can’t wait to see you at the pantry this term!

Hominy

Hominy consists of corn kernels treated to double in size and shed their outer hulls, resulting in a delicious, nutty, and chewy bite. This versatile staple is the heart of pozole (or posole), a Mexican soup rich with chili flavors and fresh toppings. You can often find nearly all the ingredients for this Budget Friendly Pozole right in our pantry, including broth, pork, hominy, onions, and chili powder, plus radishes and cabbage for the perfect toppings.
