Happy Spring Term!

Welcome back to campus after what was hopefully a restful and nourishing Spring Break! At the pantry, we are plugging away, trying to keep our shelves full with the delicious, fresh food that the students at PSU like to see. Don’t forget to check out what we have whenever you’re in the area! There is no limit to how often a PSU student can visit the pantry.

We have an exciting month coming up and are happy to be able to run the Spring iteration of Pantry Week! Join us as we celebrate the Pantry and welcome a couple of special guests along the way. For the full calendar of events, check out our Instagram page (
@psu_foodpantry) or one of the flyers placed around campus. Pantry Week is a chance to celebrate the food pantry, learn about other resources on campus and to bond with other students over a shared love of free food! We hope to see you there!

Bok Choy

Now is the perfect time to try bok choy! Since it’s currently in season, it’s at its peak for flavor and crunch. This mild, versatile veggie is a relative of cabbage and adapts to almost any seasoning you throw at it. Cook it almost any way you'd like and for an easy microwave hack, check out this link to get started.

We've had plenty of canned chicken in the pantry as I'm sure you've noticed. It’s a high quality, lean protein that is extremely convenient. While some are skeptical of the texture, canned chicken is simply fully cooked, shelf-stable breast meat that functions exactly like shredded rotisserie chicken. A quick rinse removes the brine and any "canned" scent, leaving you with a quick base that’s ready to soak up sauces and spices.
