Experience Rome as more than a visitor in this 6-credit summer program that blends community engagement, creative practice, and interdisciplinary research. Students explore the city’s layered history through site visits, service projects, and artistic reflection—examining how Rome’s material past shapes its vibrant present.

Participants will volunteer with local organizations, develop basic Italian language skills, and create material culture journals combining sketches, maps, found objects, and photos. The program culminates in a final artwork presented in a public exhibition, offering students from any major a unique opportunity to connect academic learning with real-world cultural immersion.
