PSU Students,
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact in your university and community?
Your student government is currently in the process of selecting one undergraduate student to serve on the PSU Board of Trustees as this legal power and responsibility is granted to ASPSU under SB 273 (2023).
The Board of Trustees is the volunteer governing board for Portland State University and participates in large-scale decision making such as establishing tuition and fee rates for the following year, evaluating the performance of the University President, establishing the mission and strategic plan of the University, approving the University budget and the incursion of debt, and other tasks as necessary.
The Board of Trustees meets quarterly, and the student trustee will have the opportunity to serve on one of the board's committees, which include the Academic and Student Affairs Committee, Executive and Governance Committee, and the Finance, Administration and Audit Committee.
ASPSU wants your help in identifying exceptional candidates for submission to the Oregon Governor's Office for recommendation. The appointed student trustees will serve a two-year term upon their appointment.
Are you invested in student well-being? Would you like to become a member of the University's highest governing body? Apply for the student seat on the Board of Trustees!
